Content Restoration & Pack-Out

Content Restoration & Pack-Out

If your home or business needs to be thoroughly cleaned or rebuilt, Property Damage Specialists can handle moving objects and personal effects to a secure storage facility where they’ll be cleaned individually. You can oversee the process, but we will do everything for you.

Restoring your property is generally far more cost effective than replacing it. You’ll also retain those items you have an emotional attachment to. In our experience, thorough cleaning can restore many furniture items you’d think would be irreplaceable. We will pre-test items before hand to ensure they can be restored, of course, so that you and your insurance adjuster can work out what should be restored and what must be replaced.

In the event your home or business needs very thorough cleaning, packing out objects simply makes sense. A space free of furniture or personal effects allows our cleaning team to use advanced restoration techniques and equipment to salvage as much of the structure as we can. This saves you time and money, and protects your possessions.

When we move out your possessions, we do so to a secure facility where we’ll restore soiled objects one by one using professional techniques. Often, the right cleaning procedures and products make it possible to bring back your possessions to a “as close to a original” state, as possible. For objects that were not damaged, moving them temporarily to storage protects them from potential damage — whether in the form of odor absorption or on-site damage during the restoration process.

We use the following techniques to restore damaged objects:

– Dry cleaning, to remove light and medium soiling that’s not grease based, or to pre-clean residue before wet cleaning

– Wet cleaning, to thoroughly remove moderate and heavy soiling from a variety of surfaces

– Spray and wipe, when the material could be damaged by saturating it with cleaning solution

– Foam cleaning, if the fabric might shrink when exposed to water or if the dyes would bleed

– Abrasive cleaning, for surfaces that can handle abrasive treatment

– Immersion cleaning, an effective way to clean objects that will handle complete saturation with cleaning product

We can do all of these things on-site if necessary, or off-site at our secure warehouse following a move-out.

Our move-outs are organized and efficient. We follow a six step process for orchestrating a property move out. Using this process allows you to see exactly what will be done and how we’ll do it. You’ll have the chance to oversee which items we will attempt to restore, and our cleaning crews will never throw anything out without first getting your permission.

Property Damage Specialists uses the following six steps when conducting a move out:

1. First, we take a video of the job site. This allows us to create a record of both the damage and the contents. There will be no doubt about what was damaged and what objects were placed where before we begin work.

2. Based on our inspection, we will provide you with a “scope of work” and a job estimate, itemizing what we will be doing to restore your property and undo the damage.

3. We will pack up, tag, and take inventory of the contents. You’ll have a full inventory list of everything we move into storage. Additionally, we will also separately sort clean items that will be repaired or replaced under your insurance claim. Storing clean items separately ensures they stay clean as we restore items that were soiled.

4. Based on the inventory, we will move your room or building contents to a warehouse. There, we’ll clean and deodorize items that were soiled or picked up odor. We’ll repack the restored items ready to move items back to your house or business.

5. If you have claim list suggestions, we will take those into account.

6. Once the restoration process is completed, we will move the items back to your property.

Property Damage Specialists will coordinate the move-in process according to what you need. The level of move-in service we can offer may hinge on your insurance coverage. In that case, we will coordinate with you and your insurance adjuster.

The best way to avoid any further damage is to act quickly. Fire, water, and mold damage are all easiest to restore within hours to days after the damage occurred.
